Scrap-To-IT! Times!

April 2008 Edition

National Scrapbook Day!

In just a few weeks we will be celebrating another National Scrapbook Day.  Now this might not be as big a day as say Christmas or your kid’s birthdays, but hey, that we, as scrapbookers, have our very own recognized day – it’s a ‘good thing!’  Ok, so maybe it doesn’t make the cut for calendar makers, but it is on our calendar and at STI we are planning and preparing to celebrate.   We’ll be sending out a special NSD announcement as the details finalize and date gets closer.  Watch your e-mail!!

New in the Store -

Pink Paislee, our new paper vendor, made a huge splash last month – so much so that we have now replenished our stock.  If you didn’t get a chance to pick up these delicious scalloped papers, stop by Scrap-To-It! and see them for yourself.

For those of you who are already enjoying these awesome papers, we have added a couple new sheets to our collections.  You’ll have to come see these in person to appreciate the detail and texture on these.

Crate Paper, our newest paper line is here and looking oh so wonderful on the shelves. We have the new release, Kaitlin and Blue Hill.  Along with the beautiful papers are some awesome rub-ons, some color to coordinate with the collection and the rest are in the delicious chocolate brown – ‘the new black’.  Stop by the store and see these papers in person.

Crop-A-Dile II – The Big Bite is here.  Well…we have one left.  We were expecting several, but there was such a big rush on these from the trade show that they sold out at the manufacturer.  We were lucky to get the three we did.  We are expecting more, so if you are still waiting to get yours, please get on our pre-order list – soon.  They are scheduled to ship from the manufacturer in May.

Kaiser Crafts - We will also be bringing in some wonderful paper and rub-on samplings from a new manufacturer, Kaiser Crafts.  Kaiser has been feeding the craft cravings of the Australian market for quite a few years.  They now have a facility here in the US that we can take advantage of.  We are so excited to bring in their products.

Kaiser also has a great line-up of altered products in the raw for those of you who like to make home décor projects.  We’ll be putting some images on the website soon for you to check out.

Next Month’s Teaser -  Coredinations cardstock.

More details on this new cardstock line in next month’s newsletter. Stay tuned for details.

New Products and New Toys

April 10th, 2008

March was a great month at Scrap-To-IT! as the releases introduced at the winter Craft and Hobby trade show (CHA) began hitting the shelves.  We introduced new lines like Studio 8 and Pink Paislee.  7Gypsies, not new as a manufacturer, but a new line for us also hit our shelves.  Many of these lines are still available, but we are already re-stocking many of the papers that have proven favorites.

Two fun collections from Moxxie, Tea Party and Easter also added to our collections this past month.  Both are nearly gone now.  However if you are still looking for Easter papers to finish those photos  you haven’t gotten to yet, please let us know.  We try to have available as many themes as we can, however, we also try to keep the lines moving and fresh.  Our retailer connections, can usually help us out when we’ve run out of something that you are looking for.

Worldwin cardstock made a debut at STI as well.  We are working on increasing our cardstock inventory and hope that you’ll find this a great substitute for Bazzill.  The papers area textured and a comparable weight to what you are used to.

Our new Big Bites arrived too….well a couple of them arrived. Evidently there were too many orders for the manufacturer to meet so we are still waiting to fill all the pre-orders on this tool and case.  We’re being told they will begin shipping from the mfg. the end of this month. If you are still wanting to purchase one, please e-mail us.  We are taking a wait list for the order due in the end of the month.

Our crop room has some new toys!!!  We are so excited to add the Squeeze and Revolution tools from Quick Kuts.  We’ll also be offering a special this month on the Revolution.  If you are considering a cuttlebug, come to the store and play with the Revolution and see what you think (I’m sure you’ll like the price if nothing else!!).  Already use QK…come check out the catalog and do some wish list shopping.

Now for a sneak peak into April –  the new paper releases from Crate Paper are on order and should be shipping in soon.  This is a new line for us and we are so anxious to have these papers added to our collections. We’ll be posting images soon — watch for those.

Stay tuned for more product details as spring and summer comes more releases will be arriving here at Scrap-To-It!

New Category - Chip Word Books

March 19th, 2008

We’ve created a new category in the store especially for all our word book designs.  We have been having such a blast making these albums and coming up with more themes and shapes that we decided it was high time they had their own ‘isle’ in the store.  You can now find the chipboard books, both the word ‘bloom’ type and the shaped albums in the ‘Chip Word Book’ category heading.

For those who haven’t worked on one of these albums, you really ought to give it a whirl.  They are quick, fun and full of possibilties.

Our albums are designed for us, by hand, here in the USA.  The quality is excellent and the weight of the chip is not thin or flimsy like some of the other albums out there.  You’ll be very please with the product when you purchase one of our albums.

Also, because these are hand-made, the possibilites for a personal design are endless.  If you’d like to create an album with your family or child’s name we can design that for you.  Prices vary depending on size/shape/etc.  E-mail us at shop.scraptoit@yahoo.com for special requests.

We have the following designs available.  If you don’t see one of these online it may be due to inventory moving in and out.  E-mail us to see if we have one instock and not in the web store.

Design Themes:  Baby, Bridal Shower, Brothers, Christmas, Christmas Tree, Cousins, Daddy, Easter, Father, Football, Girlfriends, Gingerbread Boy, Grandkids, Grandma, Grandpa, Graduate, Love (several designs) Mom, Mommy, Missouri (other states available) Navy (several military designs available), Princess, Recipe, Soccer (other sports available too) and teacher.

As we get more designs we’ll get them online as fast as we can.  As always, we area only an e-mail away for questions or special orders.

STI Journal Entry 3/4/08

March 4th, 2008

Was it really Valentine’s day when I posted last on the front page of STI? Sheesh.  I didn’t realize February was so busy.  But somewhere in the middle it sure got crazy, both on a personal and a business side of things.

(And it is SNOWING….AGAIN!!! Can I just say…I am so ready for spring?)

Friday we had the best Girls Night-out crop.  Thank you ladies!! It was a great evening and we had a lot of fun getting to know one another and getting some scrapping done (I think?!! — there was so much laughter…I’m not sure if they worked or just cut up all night!)

Finally the new releases are hitting the shelves from the latest CHA show orders.

New in stock is Studio 8’s ‘Daydream’ Collection.  Part of this is 3 awesome patterns for any of your Valentine projects you do not have done, or just for a great ‘Reasons I love you’ project.  The other part of this is a great set of blues and tans and stars.  Love it!!

7 Gypsies is on the way and should be here any day now.  Along with Moxxie and another new manufacturer, Pink Paislee. You are just going to love these papers.

We have a big order on the way from Queen and company and we are looking forward to playing with the new felt pieces on our projects.

We heard from We R about the Big Bite, and it looks like April before this one ships.  I did manage to snag a couple from another retailer and will have one in the crop room to play with soon.  As well as a couple to go out to the first on our wait list.  I’m looking for more and will let all of you know as soon as they come available.

We are also working on some pricing on the ATG 714 adhesive gun.  This is that big hummer that holds 36 yards.  Pricey — but worth it.  From the feedback we are getting — this is going to be one of those “how did we ever scrap without it” tools.

If you have any questions on these products, feel free to e-mail us at shop.scraptoit@yahoo.com
